For example, I want sometimes to use external software like Luminar or Aurora HDR to add some effects that Lightroom can’t do. Lightroom allows users to export images into another editing software making a copy of the image and saving it back into Lightroom afterward. Also the ability to integrate other software to Lightroom by plugins and the almost seamless connection to Photoshop.
What I think makes Lightroom so powerful is its catalog system that offers a very sophisticated organizing and non-destructive editing system. I simply haven’t found any other software to match with this combination yet. However, Lightroom used together with Photoshop can be an even more powerful combination covering all areas of image editing from photo management and basic adjustment tools to high-level image design and manipulation.
Basically all that you need to edit photography and this Lightroom indeed does very effectively. Lightroom is used for image management, adjusting colors, tone, and sharpness and to fix small-scale distortions. Lightroom is mainly a tool for editing photography and can not do advanced photo manipulation techniques such as blending multiple images into one or focus stacking techniques etc, which on the other hand can be done in Photoshop CC. It is the most popular photo editing software that includes both photo management and processing tools. In short, it is photography viewing, organizing and editing software. You may be wondering what Adobe Lightroom actually even is. After reading this post you should already have a good overview of the main features in Lightroom Classic CC. Lightroom is not that complicated editing software and the learning curve is not too steep.
I’ll shortly describe the features that I think are the most useful in Lightroom and how to use them. In this post, I’m going to introduce you How to use Lightroom Classic CC.
